The Oromo Canadian Community Association of GTA (OCCA-GTA) is nonprofit community association founded in September 1988 by Canadians of Oromo origin and new Oromo immigrants. The Association is committed to offering a range of activities that can be tailored to meet Immigrant Oromo's needs. OCCA believes that Oromo community is rich in heritage culture, faculty, ingenuity and urge and it is there to preserve and build upon that. At the same time OCCAGTA provides more intensive service and assistance to Oromos to integrate with the Canadian Society and take advantage of the mainstream services. We encourage you to browse through this website and learn more about the Oromo Canadian Community Association of Greater Toronto Area. If you or your associates want to visit our center and benefit from any of the services we offer, please feel free to stop in or contact us at your convenience. We are always happy to serve you better. At present, it is estimated that the Association represents about 5,000 to 10,000 people of Oromo origin in Greater Toronto Area.
The Association is governed by nine board members and the office is managed by an Executive Director.
